How To Remove Hair At Home, Part 2
Having a good idea of what you need to do when it comes to hair removal is essential. Now that you understand what you can do with tweezing and shaving, it is time to learn more about other types of hair removal that you can do at home as you see fit.
Ouch, Waxing
Waxing can be painful. Here's what you need to do. With your skin dry and clean, you should insure there is no lotion or other product on your face. Then, apply the wax in the direction that your hair grows. You will need to insure that the wax that you choose has the right consistency for your hairs' thickness. Thicker hair needs a thicker type of wax. The hair should be at least 1/8 of an inch long in order to be waxed. Follow the directions provided with the wax. You should only need to do this once a month.
Bleaching: How To
Although this is not really a hair removal method, it will lighten the color of the hair to make it more difficult to see. You can not use laundry bleach for this! You will need to purchase cosmetic bleach creams to use on your body.
This is typically used on the hair of a woman's upper lip, although it can be used elsewhere. You need to insure that your skin is not allergic, so make sure to test the the product on a small area before applying it everywhere. If you tan, this may not be the thing for you since the hair can stand out more so against darker skin. You'll need to do this every 2 or 3 weeks.
Abrasives
If you have a pumice stone, you can remove hair by rubbing the skin with it. You can find hair removal gloves as well which feel like a fine type of sandpaper. You'll need to rub in a circular motion over the area. Use a little pressure to avoid damaging the skin. You will have some skin irritation from this though. It will last you up to 3 weeks.
Epilation
This is a term that is used for hair removal methods that will remove the hair from below the surface of the skin. This can be waxing, electrolysis or even laser treatments.
Electrolysis
Home electrolysis methods are not as dependable as those that you will receive from a professional. But, the result in permanent hair removal can be good as long as good techniques and equipment are used. You need to purchase the equipment and then carefully read the labels before using them. You need to choose equipment that will come with a blunt needle that will be inserted alongside of the hair follicle. You should not use electric tweezers. You should use depilatory or wax for the area before using the electrolysis. You'll want to wait for hair to begin to return, and then use it. This is because it needs to be in its growing cycle to work. It is essential that your equipment is kept clean and in good repair. You need to work on a square inch at a time. And, you can expect your skin to swell somewhat here. You'll need to do this every few months because in most home electrolysis, the hair will not be permanently removed.
There are many methods of hair removal that you can take advantage of. Which one you use is up to you and to the results that you are after. It is necessary to keep in mind the proper way to use the products as well as to know when to use them.
